The Canadian singer is 'recovering from a health issue'
Bad news this morning for Irish fans of Celine Dion.
The Canadian diva has postponed the entire European leg of her 'Courage' world tour for spring 2023, as she "continues to recover from a health issue". This includes her planned dates at Dublin's 3Arena on March 30th and 31st 2023.
She has also cancelled eight dates in Europe during the summer.
However, there is a silver lining to the news, as the rescheduled Dublin gigs will now take place on April 5th and 6th 2024.
Dion had kicked off her 'Courage' world tour in 2019, performing 52 dates in North America before Covid forced their postponement. Since then, she has been treated for and is recovering from severe and persistent muscle spasms, which have prevented her from performing. Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition.
She released a statement to fans which read: "“It hurts me to tell you that I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February. I miss seeing all of you…being on stage...performing for you. I always give 100% when I do my shows, but I can't give you that right now. For me to reach you again, I have no choice but to concentrate on my health, and I have hope that I’m on the road to recovery.”
Tickets for the original dates will remain valid for the rescheduled dates in 2024.
