If you've seen Calvin Harris at any point over the last few months, you'll be aware that he is sporting a rather substantial beard.

The Scottish producer took to Twitter to reveal his reasons for growing it - i.e. not just laziness - and although his explanation might be more than a little tongue-in-cheek, it seems that he might be on to something.

Harris claimed that the whole thing was a bid to be 'taken seriously by the Grammys as a producer' and it worked as he got a nomination this year - but unfortunately lost out to Greg Kurstin.

Is he taking the mick, or does a beard make you more noticeable? Either way, his mother must be happy that the monstrosity has been removed from his face... it made him look about twenty years older.
