An Irish date is surely inevitable

He's just about to release a new solo record, but Bruce Springsteen is already planning his next move.

The New Jersey man wrapped up his extended 'Springsteen on Broadway' run last December, and now it looks like normal service has resumed as he returns to the studio.

The 69-year-old releases solo album 'Western Stars' - his first since 2005's 'Devils & Dust' - on June 14th, but he is not expected to tour it. Instead, he told Italian newspaper La Repubblica that 2020 will see him hit the road with his bandmates.

"We will go on tour next year," he said. "I’ll record with the E Street Band in the autumn, and when we are done, we’ll go on tour.”

The last album to feature the E Street Band was 2014's 'High Hopes', while their last Irish dates were part of their 'Summer '16' tour.

Considering that The Boss is treated like one of our own and usually sells out every show he plays in Ireland, you'd be silly to bet against an Irish date on that tour. Watch this space.
