The 74-year-old is suffering from 'vocal issues'

It seems as though Bruce Springsteen needs a bit of time off to recover after his recent run of Irish dates.

The Boss was, by all accounts, in fine voice in Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Kilkenny - but he has postponed four shows on his European run due to 'vocal issues'.

His show in Marseilles was pulled at the last minute on Saturday 'under doctor's direction', while there further dates planned for this week - in Prague, and two dates in Milan - will also be rescheduled.

"Following yesterday’s postponement in Marseilles due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days," a statement posted on social media read. "With this in mind, additional postponements are required… New dates for these shows will be announced shortly."

It added that "Bruce is recuperating comfortably, and he and the E Street Band look forward to resuming their hugely successful European stadium tour on June 12 in Madrid at the magnificent Civitas Metropolitan."

It's not the first time in recent years that the 74-year-old rocker has had to postpone dates - his battle with peptic ulcer disease led him to postpone some dates on his US tour last year.
