Larry Rudolph said that Spears has not called him in months

If you managed to catch Britney Spears in Dublin last year, count yourself lucky - because if reports are to be believed, it might be a while before she's back. If ever.

Spears has been taking some time to herself in recent months to safeguard her mental health, after her father Jamie suffered a ruptured colon that almost caused him to die.

It led to the suspension of her new Las Vegas residency, which was due to begin in February - and now her manager has said that she may never perform live again.

Larry Rudolph told TMZ that he had kept his distance from the star in recent months, allowing her some space, and that she had not been in touch during that time.

"Last summer, when she wanted to tour, she called me every day. She was excited," he said. "She hasn't called me in months. Crickets. She clearly doesn't want to perform now."

He added that he personally thought that she should not be returning to the live stege - possibly ever again.

"As the person who guides her career - based on the information I and all of the professionals who work with her are being told on a need-to-know basis - from what I have gathered it's clear to me she should not be going back to do this Vegas residency, not in the near future and possibly never again," he said. "I don't want her to work again 'til she's ready, physically, mentally and passionately."

Having checked into a mental health rehab facility recently, Spears' most recent social media post was of her practicing yoga and apparently happy. She posted an update on her health last month (below) to assure fans that she was okay.

As for whether we'll see her on the stage again? Only time will tell.
