Lynne Spears made a court filing supporting her daughter
Although the judge in Britney Spears' court hearing ruled against her father's hold over her life for the past 13 years, it seems that the conservatorship is crumbling bit by bit, nevertheless.
The latest twist in the saga - following the resignation of her long-time manager Larry Rudolph in recent days - has seen Spears' court-appointed attorney Samuel D. Ingham also resign from his post.
While her father Jamie remains one of her conservators, the other (court-appointed), Jodi Montgomery, said that she had been receiving death threats but would not be resigning from her post.
Now, her mother Lynne Spears has officially become involved in the saga, with a court filing that asked the judge to “listen to the wishes of her daughter” and let her choose her own attorney to replace Ingham.
Lynne also praised Britney for “baring her heart to the court in an impassioned plea to be heard on several requests,” when she addressed the court last month. Her attorney added that "It is beyond dispute that this is a unique conservatorship. Now, and for the past many years, Conservatee is able to care for her person and in fact has, inside the parameters of this conservatorship, earned literally hundreds of millions of dollars as an international celebrity.”
Conservatorships are usually reserved for people with disabilities, or elderly people with conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's.
The next hearing is set for July 14th.
