The Dubliner is done with music and TV - well, almost
He joined Boyzone when he was just 17 years old, but it seems that Shane Lynch has finally had enough of the showbiz world.
The 46-year-old has revealed that he is quitting the world of music and showbusiness for good in a new interview.
Lynch's last involvement with the boyband, who formed in 1993, was when they wrapped up their 25th anniversary tour, which concluded in 2019. Boyzone said that they were splitting in the wake of the tour, but even if they do decide to reform at some point, it looks like it'll be without Lynch.
He told New magazine that the only thing that he will remain in the public eye for is 'The Real Housewives of Cheshire' reality TV show, which he appears on with his wife Sheena.
"In the last year or so I’ve made the active decision to completely exit from the industry, whether that be music or TV,” he said. "The only thing you’ll see me do is Real Housewives because that is part of our lives and they came into our home and it is all genuine.
"I happen to be a part of that, but my business life has gone to a whole new level and I’m happy with that."
Lynch's aforementioned 'business life' has recently included a chain of 1920s-inspired barbershops called The Elk & Clippers in Northern Ireland, as well as an Irish pub in Cheshire called D13.
"We moved up to Cheshire for business, hence why Sheena ended up on the show, and I’m Ok with that," he said. "I’m happy to concentrate solely on the businesses that we have running. We have about five or six. I can’t afford to go on tour for two months. It just doesn’t fit into my life."
Sorry Shane, but we can't let you go without a run-through of this gem one last time...
