The U2 frontman will appear on a song called 'Skyscrapers'
There are unusual collaborations, and then there's Bono and DMX.
It seems that the U2 frontman has been busy during lockdown with a project other than his autobiography and his band's next album - he is set to feature on DMX's forthcoming studio album.
The New York rapper revealed during a recent podcast interview that Bono will appear on the album on a track called 'Skyscrapers'. He said that his collaborator Swizz Beatz - who is also a friend of Bono's - made the track happen, and complimented the rocker on his vocals.
"It’s crazy,” he added. “It got like, a Miami feel to it. I feel like I want to shoot the video here.”
Swizz Beatz, aka producer Kasseem Dean, was also responsible for Bono's last foray into hip-hop - when he and The Edge collaborated with Jay-Z and Rihanna on a track called 'Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour); for charity album 'Hope for Haiti' in 2010.
DMX's album has yet to be finished, so we probably won't hear 'Skyscrapers' anytime soon - but other artists set to feature include Pop Smoke, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys and Usher.
