No seriously, who's playing this year?
With festival announcements coming in thick and fast over the last few weeks, it's quite hard to stand out above the noise.
But Body & Soul festival, which takes place from 17-19 June, has done just that by announcing their line-up with a real surprise twist.
And when we say surprise, we mean it. As in, we're completely in the dark. You see, Body & Soul is purposefully launching its 2022 festival edition without naming its confirmed headline acts. Instead it's inviting audiences to participate in an immersive and adventurous weekend full of surprises.
After a 2-year hiatus, the pioneering festival of music and arts is flipping its usual format on its head, halving its numbers and doubling its curatorial commitment.
With just 5,500 weekend tickets to be made available, the strikingly smaller 3-day event will be a grown-up affair. It comes with the promise of an unparalleled creative experience still under wraps.
Aside from their annual, colourful salute to the Summer Solstice, collaboration takes centre stage this year. Fusing commissions of brand new work with music, dance, comedy, art installations, spoken work and performance across the stunning grounds of Ballinlough Castle Estate, Co. Westmeath, Ireland.
The festival will see the return of some old features and some new this year. A 35ft totem pole will be placed at the Beacon Stage as a meeting point, shooting a laser beam into the sky. A dedicated food and drinks area called The Avant Garden will also feature. The Sanctuary returns, as well as The Woodlands and the brand new immersive electronic area called Lakeside.
Body & Soul will take place in Ballinlough Castle Estate, Clonmellon, Co. Westmeath. Tickets are on sale now and are available at BodyAndSoul.ie.
