Blur are to be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at next year's Brit Awards, which will take place in London on February 21st. Previous winners of the award include Oasis, The Who, Paul McCartney, U2 and Queen.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn said in response the announcement was: "recognition for all the hard work and heartache that has gone into this band."
Recent reports in the media have suggested that Blur are considering reforming once more, following the massive success of their 2009 tour and festival appearances.
