One of the most iconic rock/metal bands in music have officially called it a day.
Black Sabbath formed in Birmingham in 1968 and went on to huge success across the globe with songs like 'Paranoid' and albums like their eponymous 1970 debut.
They embarked on a tour called 'The End' recently which saw them play Dublin's 3Arena and end with a gig in their native Birmingham last month - but it looks like it well and truly is the end for Ozzy Osbourne and co.
Guitarist Tommy Iommi confirmed that the band was over, saying “It’s just the touring for me. It’s time to stop roaming the world and be at home for a bit. When you’re touring you’ve got to go out for six, eight, 12 months or whatever, and you’ve got a schedule that you have to do. Now, if I want to do some TV for a month, I can do that.”
He added: “I don’t think we’ve ruled anything out, apart from me not wanting to tour any more. Who knows? We may do something. We haven’t spoken about it. We haven’t talked about anything, really – but I’m sure something can happen somewhere.”
A picture was also posted to their social media marking their 49-year-long lifespan:
