The band cancelled their American arena tour after reports of low ticket sales
It is a story that has been played out time and time again over the decades: bands falling out with their managers.
Now, it seems as though The Black Keys are the latest to fall foul of the music industry cliche, as according to a vague insinutation by drummer Patrick Carney, the duo "got fucked".
Carney and his Black Keys colleague Dan Auerbach released their latest album 'Ohio Players' back in April, and initially
The first inklings of something going awry was when they suddenly cancelled their entire North American arena tour without an explanation, only to say that they planned to reschedule it in smaller venues. Some had speculated that low ticket sales and high ticket prices were the reason for the tour being nixed.
"We have decided to make some changes to the North American leg of the International Players Tour that will enable us to offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band, and will be announcing a revised set of dates shortly," they said in a statement - although those changes have still yet to materialise.
This morning, however, Carney took to X for the first time in almost a year to impart a simple explanation to fans, saying "We got fucked. I'll let you all know how so it doesn't happen to you. Stay tuned."

According to the New York Times, in recent days the duo have parted ways with their managers Steve Moir and Irving Azoff, with a rep for Azoff - who is the former CEO of Ticketmaster and who has managed bands including The Eagles, Nicki Minaj and Van Halen - calling it an 'amicable parting'.
However, it seems that that may not quite be the case, and if Carney's tweet is anything to go by, the band are not happy about recent developments...
