He didn't hold back on his opinion
"I never thought I’d have to say this to a baby, but stop being such a f*cking baby. You’re not a victim."
A double-whammy of straight-talking was done by Bill Maher to 'Nevermind' album cover baby Spencer Elden, and also former US President Donald Trump.
Maher's remarks follow Elden's suing of the band Nirvana, launching his attack earlier this year. 30 years on from being on the album cover of 'Nevermind', Spencer Elden is suing the rock band for child pornography, claiming that the image makes his baby-self appear to look "like a sex worker" as he attempts to grab a dollar bill.
Now the actor and comedian has weighed in on the controversy. On his HBO talk show 'Real Time with Bill Maher', he had this to say to the 'Nevermind' baby: "The baby from the Nirvana album says he’s a victim. He’s suing Nirvana for lifelong damages.
"I never thought I’d have to say this to a baby, but stop being such a f*cking baby. You’re not a victim. There’s no reason you can’t have a normal, happy life just because people look at you and think, 'baby penis'. It didn’t hurt Trump."
Maher's recent segment on his show discussed the topic of "hate" words, because "nobody knows what words mean anymore". Pointing out that a dictionary should be in every hotel room instead of a Bible, the host covered a range of topics including Dave Chappelle's Netflix special and his comments on the Trans community.
It's quite n interesting segment to watch in its entirety, with the 'Nevermind' remarks beginning around three minutes 50 seconds in.
Despite the ongoing legal battle around the album this year, Nirvana is releasing a deluxe reissue for its 30th anniversary, which will release on November 12 and will feature Elden's image as the cover, uncensored.
