Ahead of the release of their new album 'The Suburbs', Canadian indie demi-gods Arcade Fire have announced that they will stream their upcoming New York gig live online.

The band are set to perform live at Madison Square Gardens on August 5th, and the whole show will be streamed live via YouTube, according to Consequence of Sound. Exact details are a little sketchy, but we assume it'll be possible to watch the gig via Arcade Fire's YouTube channel, as that's where you can also find the trailer below, directed by Spike Jonze.

Some elements are not supported yet for this mobile version.

It had previously been reported that the band had been working on a short film about "friends growing apart" with the Being John Malkovich and Where The Wild Things Are director. The song you can hear in the trailer is new song 'Rococo', which we saw Arcade Fire perform at their recent, under-attended Oxegen performance.

'The Suburbs' hits shelves next Friday July 30th, and is being released with a selection of eight slightly different album covers, which you can see below.
