Win Butler did not address the allegations made against him
To say that it's been a tumultuous week for Arcade Fire is putting it mildly.
Over the weekend, a story about Win Butler broke on Pitchfork that alleged sexual misconduct against four people with whom he'd had extra-marital relationships.
The frontman of the Canadian band - and his wife, Regine, who is also in the band - both issued statements on the allegations and there was speculation that they might cancel or postpone the opening nights of their 'WE' tour in Dublin on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Nevertheless, the gigs went ahead as planned and according to reports, Butler did not address the issue in any way - and was even seen walking through the crowd on Tuesday before , chatting to fans posing
Support act Feist, however, pointedly donated profits from her merch sales to Women's Aid Dublin.
The band did pay tribute to their location by covering a U2 track; the Canadians previously supported Bono and co. on several dates of their 'Vertigo' tour, and U2 used Arcade Fire's track 'Wake Up' as their intro music on the same tour.
