The full documentary will debut in April
It looks like Beastie Boys fans are in for a treat with Spike Jonze's new documentary.
The film director was a frequent collaborator of the hip-hop trio over the years, so when it came to telling their story he was the obvious choice.
Now, the first 'sneak peek' at 'Beastie Boys Story: As Told By Mike D & Ad-Rock' has been shared by Apple TV .
As the title suggests, the 'live documentary' sees the group's two remaining members tell their story in real-time in front of a live audience, as archive footage plays on a screen behind them.
The live show, which ran for a limited number of dates in Brooklyn and Philadelphia in April 2019 to promote their 'Beastie Boys Book', was filmed and directed by Jonze.
It'll debut on Apple TV on April 24th.
Considering how the pair vowed never to perform as Beastie Boys after the death of Adam 'MCA' Yauch in 2012, it may be the closest some fans get to a live show.
