Dead Man's Bones, the new music project from actor Ryan Gosling and longtime friend Zach Shields, have announced details of their debut album. The self-titled album was recorded with the Silverlake Children's Conservatory Choir, who you can see on the album's cover (left). The band have described their music as 'Disney haunted mansion, doo wop and 60s girl groups'. 'Dead Man's Bones' is due for release on October 6th.
'Kaleidoscope', the new album from Tiesto, will be packed full of high profile guest performances. Among the big names on the seventeen track album are Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, Jonsi Birgisson of Sigor Ros, Calvin Harris and Nelly Furtado. Sneaky Sound System will appear on single 'I Will Be Here', while Priscilla Ahn and Metric's Emily Haines also feature on the album.
Mariah Carey's forthcoming album 'Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel' will include a 34 page booklet produced in association with Elle magazine, and including advertisements. Carey's label, Island Def Jam, seems to have made the move to create more revenue from album sales, as they continue to plummet. As well as 'VIP Access To Her Sexy Love Life', the booklet will feature ads for Elizabeth Arden, Angel Champagne and The Bahamas Board of Tourism.
Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith has revealed that his forthcoming solo album is to be called 'Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats: Meet The Meetbats'. The album contains 10 instrumental tracks and was written in Smith's Malibu pool house. Smith says his writing was influence bu old British rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Cream and Deep Purple. 'Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats: Meet The Meetbats' is due for release on September 15th
Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit are back in the studio recording the first new material since their reunion, Devendra Banhart's new album will be called 'What Will We Be', Port O'Brien have a new one coming out called 'Threadbare', and there are greatest hits albums on the way from Kila and Will Young.
