She's done the Grammys, the Oscars, headlined Glastonbury and sold out a world arena tour faster than you can say 'two meat pies and some jellied eels, guv'nor!' - but now Adele has her sights set
The Londoner is allegedly in talks to appear as the halftime entertainment at next year's Super Bowl, which takes place in Texas in February.
The Sun reports that Super Bowl organisers are 'desperate' to land arguably the biggest pop star in the world today for the gig, which Beyoncé and Coldplay headlined this year. However, they say that a stumbling block in negotiations could be that Adele is simply too nervous to play such a big gig - which is surprising, considering her mammoth achievements in the past.
Then again, Super Bowl does have a TV audience of 115 million in the US alone - and that's without counting all of the people who would watch her performance online, after the fact.
They quote an 'NFL source' as saying: "There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organisers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up. She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers.
“It’s Adele’s nerves that are the issue — it hasn’t been an easy sell.”
