Here are the biggest albums released this month
Are you bored with your current playlists? Looking for something new to check out this month? We’re here to help.
Below, you’ll find five of the biggest albums set for release in June.
FOO FIGHTERS - ‘But Here We Are’ [June 2nd]
One of the biggest rock bands in the world returns with what may well be their most poignant offering to date. Following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year, as well as Dave Grohl’s mother, you can expect some cathartic moments amidst the anthems - including the proggy epic that is the ten-minute-long track ‘The Teacher’.

NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS - ‘Council Skies’ [June 2nd]
No, Oasis still haven’t reformed. Stop asking. Instead, you have another album by Noel Gallagher’s post-Oasis band - their fourth in total - and it’s actually quite good. Written during the first lockdown in 2020, and following his marital breakdown, ‘Council Skies’ is a more reflective, swoonsome, string-laden affair than some of NGHFB’s previous fare.

NIALL HORAN - ‘The Show’ [June 9th]
The day before his former One Direction bandmate headlines Slane, Mullingar’s Niall Horan releases his third solo album. Will he ever headline Slane himself? Who knows. In any case, the leap away from the maudlin singer-songwriter fare of his solo debut, and towards considered pop of 2020’s ‘Heartbreak Weather’ wad promising - let’s hope he’s continued to push things forward on ‘The Show’.

JANELLE MONAE - ‘The Age of Pleasure’ [June 9th]
Undoubtedly one of the most forward-thinking, eccentric and unpredictable pop musicians out there right now, Janelle Monae has undoubtedly entered ‘The Age of Pleasure’ if her recent sensual, provocative videos are anything to go by. Monae seems to have stepped away from the high-concept, futuristic themes of her previous fare for her fourth studio album - we can’t wait to hear it.

GRIAN CHATTEN - ‘Chaos for the Fly’ [June 30th]
It would totally be in character for Fontaines DC to split after three remarkable albums and while at the top of their game. Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case, although their frontman is taking time away from the band to pursue a solo career. How will it differ from the compelling sound hat he has forged with his bandmates? We’ll find out at the end of the month.
