The Scottish musician has gone viral with his cover of 'Wellerman' and has now released it as a single
You've probably already heard of Nathan Evans. If not, where have you been for the past six months?
The young Scottish musician went viral earlier this month when he posted videos of himself singing sea shanties on Tik Tok – specifically the song 'Wellerman' - single-handedly reviving interest in a very niche musical genre.
Life is very busy for him these days, having released his cover of 'Wellerman' off the back of his viral success – but we grabbed him for a quick chat to answer our 10 Questions.
1. What’s the music that you listened to growing up, that you still listen to today?
The Corries, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan - these are a few great artists that I still listen to today that I grew up on.
2. In three words, describe the minute before you walk on stage.
Full of excitement.
3. How do you wind down after a gig?
Have a beer and chill!
4. What’s the one song you wish you’d written or recorded first
Any song in the world? That’s tough - but off the top of my head I’d maybe say Bob Dylan - 'The Times They Are A-Changin''.
