French literature professor Pierre (Auteuil) hits his mid life crisis and runs off to London where he encounters escort Tom (Townsend). Introduced to the world of male prostitution, Pierre quickly finds himself seduced by the lifestyle and all its excess. While the performances might be of a decent, if unspectacular, standard, the script is where The Escort ultimately fails. Shoddily penned characters and simplistic plot developments mean that one charts the progress of the central players with no more than a curious sense of detachment.
