Christmas Eve. Jack Campbell (Cage) goes to bed an arrogant Wall Street banker, but wakes up as the man he would have been, had he married his college sweetheart and settled down.

While there's more than a passing nod to It's A Wonderful Life, The Family Man is an engaging enough drama for the most part. Much of the credit must go to Cage who puts in a thoughtful, refined performance. Where it flounders, however, is a hideously sentimental and unnecessary last 20 minutes.
