The animated adventure arrives in cinemas and on Apple+ later this year.
Cartoon Saloon has made a name for itself as one of Ireland's most recognisable exports in the movie industry, with the likes of 'Song of the Sea' receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature.
'Wolfwalkers', which was originally conceived as a concept around three years ago, follows a young girl who lives in the forest and has the ability to shift into a wolf's body when she sleeps. Living wild and free under the trees and stars, she meets Robyn - voiced by child actor Honor Kneafsey - and a friendship blossoms, though it soon begins to rankle her father, voiced by Sean Bean.
Drawn in the distinctive and beautiful woodcut style of previous Cartoon Saloon efforts, 'Wolfwalkers' looks like it has the potential to be another modern classic for the studio. No release date has been confirmed as of yet, but it's understood a theatrical release is expected later this year while the world premiere will take place later this week at the Toronto International Film Festival.
