Sony Pictures are reportedly trying to oust director Ivan Reitman from directing a third Ghostbusters film, according to Vulture.
As I mentioned in a previous story today, Reitman has signed on to direct a comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman, which Sony thought to be an indication he would not be directing Ghostbusters 3. Not so, the helmer wants to take on both films, and apparently has a clause in his contract from the 80s that gives him directorial approval. Meaning, he can't say he's directing it, but he can veto whoever Sony want.
Bill Murray still isn't confirmed to be coming back, but is thought to be seriously considering it; providing the writers do something different with his part. He told legendary talk show host Dave Letterman, that meant killing him at the start and having him be a ghost for the entire film. Really want this project to get moving now.
