Deadline.com are today reporting on five names being tested for the role of the new Jason Bourne.
Joel Edgerton (The Thing), Dominic Cooper (The Devil's Double), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American) are all slotted in for auditions for the highly sought after part in early April. The site also claims that Shia LaBeouf will not test for the part but is in contention, along with Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch - who has had discussions with the film's director, Tony Gilroy.
No one on that list jumps out at me. If it was a Ryan Gosling, James Franco or if they switched the lead character to a woman or something it might mix things up a bit. Gilroy does know the series, having penned the first couple of films, so here's hoping.
