We can look forward to it this Christmas
Steven Spielberg is directing a remake of 'West Side Story' and we finally have a trailer for it.
The new take on 'West Side Story' was one of the many movies postponed as a result of the virus.
Initially due to hit cinemas in December 2020, it now arrives this December instead.
The movie stars Ansel Elgort ('Baby Driver') and newcomer Rachel Zegler as Tony and Maria.
Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Corey Stoll and Brian d'Arcy James co-star.
Even more exciting for fans of the original, Rita Moreno (who previously played Anita) will have a supporting role.
Robert Wise and Jerome Roberts previously brought 'West Side Story' to the big screen in 1961.
With music and lyrics by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, the movie won ten Oscars, including Best Picture.
Clearly, Spielberg is vying for some awards gongs too, as this trailer dropped during last night's Oscars.
For those unfamiliar with the plot, 'West Side Story' depicts a modern take on 'Romeo and Juliet' as teenagers Tony and Maria, despite having affiliations with rival street gangs, the Jets and Sharks, fall in love in 1950s New York City.
