Cinematography / grading nerds, this one's for you.
Appmakers VideoLab went out and pretty much changed Man of Steel's entire colour palette. Fans of the original Richard Donner film will remember just how alive and vibrant the colours were.
Really, if you go back and take a look at the first one, the colours jump out at the screen.
Now compare that with Man of Steel. Sure, the muted greys and general desaturation are in keeping with the 'realistic' aesthetic that Zack Snyder was going for.
But where's the visual optimism? Where's the hope? As the narrator in this video very aptly puts it, "Superman should fly in blue skies."
