We were granted a mere glimpse earlier in the week but now we've been afforded a full trailer for Tom Holland's first solo outing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Between school, girls, bank robbers, billionaire mentors, and a "flying monster guy", the teenage Spider-Man is going to have his hands full.

Rather than serve up the tired old origin story that we've already been through with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's incarnations, Holland's Spider-Man is already fully formed but has to prove himself to Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who seems to be underestimating him.

Getting Robert Downey Jr. signed on for this was a smart move by Marvel. It's clear from the brief sections of the trailer that he appears in that he and Holland have great chemistry together and will be one of the main sources of humour in the film.

Not that Holland won't be able to provide enough of that on his own. An early sequence that shows him foiling a bank robbery by men wearing Avengers masks shows that he's got Spider-Man's wisecracks down to a tee.

There's only a brief glimpse of Michael Keaton in action as The Vulture but it's enough to establish his menace. You can't help but feel Keaton will have fun with the role and could potentially be the best MCU villain after Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is in cinemas July 7th 2017.

Update: We've actually been blessed with two separate trailers for 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' today, the above U.S. trailer and the international trailer below, both with different cuts of music and some different scenes.

2017 is already off to a great start.
