And he's only delighted with himself about it.
Cruise was on Australian morning TV today to promote 'The Mummy' and the 'Sunrise 7' team could barely hold their shit together when Cruise just straight up answered the question posed to him instead of the usual dodging that stars do.
The incredulous hosts then asked "Really?" several times before remembering they had better things to ask, with Cruise then revealing he's "gonna start filming it probably in the next year."
"I know. It’s happening. It is definitely happening ... you’re the first people that I’ve said this to," he continued.
The sequel to the 1986 cult classic has been long hinted at, with Kilmer revealing in a Reddit AMA that he would be up for a sequel and Cruise confirming with Graham Norton last year that he'd met with Jerry Bruckheimer and that they were "trying to figure it out".
And we guess they figured it out.
