Tom Cruise is one of the few actions stars left who performs his own stunts. In fact, he's built his career around it.

In Mission: Impossible 2, he hung off the side of a cliff in the Grand Canyon - without any ropes or harnesses.

In Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, he scaled the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. And actually threw himself off it, at one point.

However, for the upcoming Mission: Impossible film, the Cruiser went one further - and clinged on to the side of an airplane as it took off.

That's right. The plane went up to 5,000 feet in the air with the guy from Cocktail hanging off the side of it.

At some point, someone's going to have sit him down and explain that it's OK to let one or two of them slide.

Here's a little montage bystanders took and upload to YouTube.
