Remember when we had classic films that didn't require a sequel, a reboot, a sequel reboot or a live-action remake? No, us neither.
The second official trailer for Dwayne Johnson's reboot sequel of 'Jumanji' is here and while it doesn't offer much in the terms of plot, probably because the film won't really have one, and it does offer more of the mythical mechanics that this version of 'Jumanji' will be offering.
Leaning more into video game tropes for its updated audience, this time around the cast are trying to survive the jungle world (now filled with motorbike-riding bandits, Nick Jonas and more) with their individual strengths and weaknesses as well as three lives, which allows for some gruesome/hilarious deaths that, in this trailer at least, are neither gruesome or hilarious.
We're not going to lie, we've got very low expectations for this and aren't even sure if box office guarantee Johnson can save it.
Here's the official synopsis:
In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…
'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' is released in Irish cinemas on December 20th.
