It was only a matter of time before this happened, really.
For those that don't know, the Star Wars Holiday Special is a little piece of utter and complete weirdness in TV and movie history. Filmed in 1978 and broadcast on television, the Holiday Special was supposed to act as a sort-of bridge between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.
Instead, it went into pop culture legend as being the most notoriously bad spinoff of all time and hasn't been rebroadcast or released on DVD since then. It's that bad.
Anyway, Vulture has taken the liberty of cutting what grainy, VHS footage remains of the Star Wars Holiday Special and edited it perfectly with The Force Awakens trailer because that's just what we need.
Take a look and marvel at its crapness.
Trivia time! The reason Mark Hamill's face looks so messed up is because he had just survived a massive car crash that required a huge amount of plastic surgery - of which he hadn't recovered fully.
Anthony Daniels, the man behind C3PO, said that Lucasfilm didn't so much bury the film as pour tarmacadam over it and build a motorway on top of it to make sure nobody would find it.
If you've got a couple of hours to spare, seek it out because it's worth the watch.
