If you haven't heard about the Mortal Instruments by now, brace yourself, because come August, you'll never hear the end of it. Cassandra Clare's incredibly popular books series looks well on its way to becoming the next Twilight, just like Twilight became the next Harry Potter and so on and so forth. And sure aren't there three of our own fellas in the film too?
Yup, keep your eyes peeled while watching the latest trailer for Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, because Robert Sheehan, Aidan Turner and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are all in there. Of course the whole film is really about the women. Lily Collins (yes, Phil's daughter) stars as Clary Fray, a young girl who has her world turned upside down by a dashing young Shadowhunter (demon killer to you and I) called Jace. On the night she meets this rather handsome fellow (played by Twilight star Jamie Campbell-Bower) her mammy (Lena Heady aka Game of Thrones' Circe Lannister) mysteriously disappears, and Clary discovers her whole life has been a lie.
The wily young wan (who is supposed to be a much redder redhead - you can't tell I've read these books can you?) sets out on a mission to discover the truth about her past, and rescue her mammy. And of course, her best friend Simon (Love/Hate's Dazzler sans the blue hoodie) decides he'll be heading along too. Y'know, just to keep an eye on the girl he's hopelessly in love with. Yes, we're talking Team Edward versus Team Jacob style stuff here lads. And there are werewolves and vampires to boot.
Mortal Instruments: City of Bones lands in Irish cinemas on August 23rd 2013.
