When the first images of Pierce Brosnan on the set of his new action thriller, The Foreigner, surfaced online a year ago, the internet went nuts.
The excitement at the time didn't actually have anything to do with the film. Instead it was because Brosnan seemed to resemble a certain Irish politician with his new look for the film.

Adams even joked about the resemblance at the time.
I never knew Pierce Brosnan was so good looking.

The first trailer for the film has now surfaced online and we've learned more about Brosnan's character. He plays a former IRA man turned politician, Liam Hennessy, who becomes the target of Jackie Chan's Bryan Mills-esque character. Chan's daughter was killed in a London bombing. He believes Hennessy knows the names of the men responsible and will do what needs to be done to get that information from him.
The film also features Irish actors Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones' Roose Bolton), Charlie Murphy (Love/Hate's Siobhan) and Rory Fleck Byrne (Damo & Ivor).
