We were big fans of The Conjuring and how director James Wan really replicated that '70s horror vibe, both visually and through music and the set design.
It really felt like we were watching a film from the '70s instead of one set in it, something you don't see all that often in modern horror films. This time around, The Conjuring 2 moves things to England for one of the most well-known paranormal cases in European history.
The Enfield Poltergeist has been the subject of countless documentaries and recreations, including one just recently on Sky Atlantic starring Timothy Spall. Whether it's true or not is anyone's guess, but there's a lot of documented evidence on the subject that's worth a read if you're into that sort of thing.
As for the film, it all looks pretty good and scary. You've got James Wan, fresh from directing Furious 7 and moving on to Aquaman, returning to helm the thing whilst Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson both return as the Warrens, the paranormal investigative duo who were popular during the '70s and '80s.
The Conjuring 2 is slated for a June 10th release. Take a look at the first trailer.
