Paul Feig has been saddled with protecting our childhood, vis a vie, directing the third Ghostbusters..
The veteran comedy director, who directed last year's suprisingly good The Heat and 2011's smash-hit Bridesmaids, has a lot riding on Ghostbusters, but before that, he's got Spy.
Frequent collaborator Melissa McCarthy is a CIA analyst who's brought on to track a double-agent and a nuclear warhead.
The two regular agents, Jude Law and Jason Statham, are out when their secret identities have been compromised by super-villainess Rose Byrne.
Initial thoughts? Melissa McCarthy seems determined to be this generation's comedy icon, whether we like it or not.
Feig has stated that McCarthy is in the running for the female-led Ghostbusters, so we're going to be seeing much more of here in years to come.
It looks like an interesting take on the spy genre, if a little predictable in places.
Spy lands on this side of the world in May of this year.
