Disney's goal now seems to be taking any animated classic from their library, handing them over to skilled directors with a big budget and sending them off to your local cinema in time for key calendar events like Christmas or Bank Holidays.
So far, it's worked out quite well for the House of Mouse. Last year's Cinderella was an enjoyable fairytale romp whilst Maleficent was a vampish take on the childhood classic of Sleeping Beauty.
The next lined up for this process is The Jungle Book - and there's a pretty damn amazing cast to go along with it.
Bill Murray plays Baloo the Bear, Scarlett Johansson plays Kaa the Snake, Idris Elba will play Shere Khan the Tiger whilst Ben Kingsley will play Bagheera the Panther. As for the role of Mowgli, newcomer Neel Sethi will play the mancub raised by wolves Akela and Raksha, voiced by Breaking Bad's Louis Esposito and The Force Awakens' Lupita Nyong'o.
The changing of Kaa from a male to a female has already garnered a bit of attention, as has the slightly more darker tone than the playful, jazz-inspired original from 1967.
The Jungle Book is due for release on April 15th, 2016 - but here's the trailer in the meantime.
