2014's A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night was hailed as one of the most inventive and unique genre films made in years.
Described as an Iranian Vampire Spaghetti Western - yes, really - it's no surprise that director Ana Lily Amirpour's follow-up was going to be equally weird. According to the official synopsis, The Bad Batch is a "dystopian love story in a Texas wasteland and set in a community of cannibals."
It might be weird, sure, but there's a host of talent in front of the camera, including Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Suki Waterhouse, Giovanni Ribisi and Diego Luna. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival, however there's been no word yet if the film is getting an international theatrical release - so you might see this crop up on Netflix or other streaming services in the near future.
Take a look.
