Fans of historical drama and biographical films will want to check this one out.
Churchill follows the legendary Prime Minister (played by Brian Cox) in the days before the D-Day landings, when he was plagued by uncertainty and guilt. Miranda Richardson offers support as Churchill's headstrong wife Clemmie, while Mad Men's John Slattery plays General Eisenhower. James Purefoy is also in the cast, portraying King George VI.
Interestingly, we’ll also see Winston Churchill brought to life in another movie later this year – The Darkest Hour, in which Gary Oldman plays the role. Meanwhile, John Lithgow also played the role of Churchill recently in hit Netflix series The Crown.
Churchill is directed by Jonathan Teplitzky and is due for a cinema release on June 16th.
