In case you didn't know, we were HUGE fans of John Wick. Five stars huge.

So, naturally, when we heard that a sequel was in the works, we absolutely leapt for joy. Granted, it's all gone a little bit dark on the whole project - until now, that is. This footage, snapped on the actual set, shows Keanu Reeves back in suited action as John Wick, complete with that amazing car of his and a general disregard for human life.

Take a look.

Judging by that car, we're guessing this is going to be pretty close in the timeline to the original.

On-set photos also show Keanu Reeves with a brand new dog, who in fairness, looks far more in-line with him than the cute poodle he had beforehand. 

Look at that thing, for Jaysus sake.

 

Reeves spoke in a recent interview about the general plot for the sequel, who believes that they "have a really good premise, and it’s an organic premise. It’s basically - to me there’s John Wick and then there’s John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there’s John Wick, who’s the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John."

When we spoke to Keanu during the press junket, he also mentioned that the film's follow-up had to be organic and, of course, how do you replicate that same emotional hook as the (spoiler) dog dying?

There's no official release date set for John Wick 2, but all signs point to a 2016 release.
