Vince Vaughn is to team up with Ron Howard in an untitled comedy from Wall Street 2 writer, Allan Loeb.
According to Variety, it will be based around infidelity, seemingly continuing the Vaughn trend of making films about relationships. Vaughn will play a character who finds himself flummoxed when he catches his best mate's missus having an affair. Not much else is known about the project, other than Howard and Vaughn will both also produce.
Vaughn has been one of my favourite actors since I saw Swingers as a teenager in the 90s. But his films are becoming increasingly blander of late, and he hasn't made a decent comedy since The Break Up - which also had elements of drama. Swingers co-starĀ Jon Favreau was consistently the funniest thing about Four Christmases and Couples Retreat, and he's more of a director now. Still, I have fate that the lanky motor-mouthed actor can knock a few more out of the park.
