Sad news, canine actor lovers - Uggie's passed away.
The REAL star of 2011's Oscar-winning ode to silent cinema, The Artist, Uggie scored the Palm Dog Award at Cannes and became a household name in just a few short months.
The Jack Russell Terrier, who passed on the tender age of 13, had been suffering from a tumour in his prostate and was put to sleep the other day.
Uggie was the first dog to put his paw prints in cement outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and made several appearances after The Artist.
He had a cameo role in the Robert Pattinson-Renee Zelwegger starring Water For Elephants and featured in several TV movies.
Uggie is survived by his owner Omar Von Muller.
