The career of these two really is on the rise
Actors Barry Keoghan and Jessie Buckley are up for nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award sponsored by EE.
Keoghan earned high praise for his performances in Yorgos Lanthimos' 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer' and Christopher Nolan's 'Dunkrik' in 2017. Last year, he starred in 'American Animals' and 'Black 47'.
Speaking about his nomination, the Dublin-born actor said:
"I want to thank both BAFTA and of course the jury for this incredible honour.
"Over the years, I have watched so many actors and actresses that I admire be nominated in this category, so to think that I’m now on that list is an amazing feeling."
Buckley, who hails from Kerry, said :
"I would like to thank both BAFTA and the jury from the bottom of my heart for putting me forward for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award.
"It's a huge honour and a fantastic category to be nominated for, especially as the winner is decided by film fans at home."
The actress earned high praise for her lead performance in 'Beast'. Since then, she has starred in the film 'Wild Rose' and TV mini series 'The Last Post' and 'The Woman in White'. She starred opposite Tom Hardy in the series 'Taboo'.
Buckley and Keoghan face tough competition for the Rising Star award.
Letitia Wright ('Black Panther') and Lakeith Stanfield ('Sorry to Bother You') are their fellow nominees. Cynthia Ervio ('Widows', 'Bad Times at the El Royale') is also nominated.

The 2019 EE British Academy Film Awards take place in London on February 10th. Joanna Lumley hosts the ceremony.
