The tweens (officially my most overused word of the week) were out in force supporting the big screen adaptation of Twilight this weekend, as it bagged a huge $70 million on its opening bow stateside, easily beating animated farce Bolt into second spot with $27 million. A sequel to Twilight was greenlit on the strength of preview screenings alone, and the next film New Moon, will move into production very soon. The film doesn't open here until December 19th, with hyperbole here already at a staggering high level for fans of the book series waiting to catch a glimpse of their heroes in celluloid.
