Now don't you all feel a bit thick? Don't worry, you're not alone.
We had absolutely no idea we've been pronouncing Harry Potter's arch-nemeses' name wrong for the past 18 years.
It turns out that according to J.K. Rowling, the 't' at the end of Lord Voldemort is actually silent, although we have no intention of pronouncing it that way. Much like with the actor who played him on screen, we're just going to continue to say it wrong. And if RAAALPH doesn't like it, come at us, Fiennes.
@Universe_Box One piece of Harry Potter trivia I always forget to mention: the "t" is silent in Voldemort, according to @jk_rowling.

... but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who pronounces it that way. https://t.co/HxhJ5XY5HP

To be fair, he's been telling us for years, so it's our own blind ignorance that's caused this mess.
