Videogame adaptations are becoming big business for studios, with many heavy-hitters lining up to buy the rights to some of yesteryear's greatest videogames.
Unfortunately, it's been more miss than hit when it comes to these adaptations, but that may change with Duncan Jones' eagerly-awaited Warcraft.
Michael Fassbender is also gearing up to star and produce Assassin's Creed with Macbeth director Justin Kurzel to helm the film.
Now it looks like Tron: Legacy's Joseph Kosinski is entering the race (pun intended) with an adaptation of PlayStation classic Gran Turismo.
Kosinski, who has a background in commercial directing, has been keen to make a racing movie for some time now and even had Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in the running for one of his films.
As far as script goes, Kosinski's developing one with the studio although no big names have been announced.
So, initial thoughts? He's certainly the right fit for it as both Oblivion and Tron: Legacy had gorgeous visuals and fantastic soundtracks. But, in both cases, the script was lacking so it meant for a missed opportunity.
We're hoping that's not the case here as Gran Turismo was one of our favourite PlayStation games and we think there's a film in there somewhere.
Just don't mention Need For Speed with Aaron Paul. Yeeshk.
In the meantime, here's the short Kosinski produced for Disney to let him direct Tron: Legacy.
