Looks like Leto accidentally gave away its title too

News of a second sequel to 'Tron' was going back and forth for a while there. But with a director and star attached, there's no stopping it now.

'Tron 3' will be led by Jared Leto. He's been attached to star in the project since 2017.

The Oscar-winning actor announced the news on Twitter.

He wrote: "I’m struck with such gratitude for the opportunity to bring this movie to life, especially as both the original video game and the film affected me so deeply as a young child.

"The fact that I get to be a part of this new chapter is mind-blowing."

Leto may have also accidentally leaked the title of the upcoming sequel.

In the original post announcing he'd been cast (which has since been deleted), he said he was going to star in 'Tron: Ares'.

In his latest post, he refers to the movie as simply 'Tron'.

The third installment in the franchise follows 1982's 'Tron' and 2010's 'Tron: Legacy.'

Both were led by Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, with the former being directed by Steven Lisberger and the latter by Joseph Kosinski.

Garth Davis is set to direct 'Tron 3'.

Davis is best-known for helming 'Lion' and he also directed episodes of 'Top of the Lake'. This will be his first blockbuster feature.

Jesse Wigutow wrote the most recent draft of the script.

Though it has yet to be confirmed, the movie could very well be headed for Disney+.
