The Hollywood Reporter posted a story this morning saying two Irish actors, Stuart Townsend and Ray Stevenson, had been cast as Thor's asskicking mates in the soon-to-be-shoot film by Kenneth Brannagh, but then pulled the story. We're not sure if that means it wasn't true, or if something has changed; but generally the trades don't go with a story unless it has had some form of confirmation. Stevenson is a fine actor last seen in the atrocious Punisher: War Zone, while Townsend is an actor looking for his second big break, having last directed the well received Indie , Battle In Seattle. The Howth native has given impressive turns in both The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Resurrection Man.
