But there are no plans to include Deadpool
There's a good chance that Sony and Marvel Studios' 'Spider-Man 3' will include Venom (played by Tom Hardy). However it looks unlikely that Deadpool will turn up.
The rumour has emerged when tweeter Roger Wardell shared: "There are no plans to add Deadpool in an MCU Spider-Man 3, but Sony desperately wants Tom Hardy's Venom in this movie. Deadpool had his own movies but never showed up in the main X-Men films, it will be the same for the MCU."
Wardell has a good track record of being right having previously delivered a number of accurate reveals for 'Avengers: Endgame'.
Sony owns the Spider-Man movie rights which it exercised for such films as last year's 'Into the Spiderverse' and 'Venom.' The latter was a major box office hit for the studio, earning $855 million globally.
Sony and Marvel share custody of the Spider-Man character, which is why he appears in the MCU. While some have claimed Venom is adjunct to the MCU, others say the worlds are separate. This new rumor suggests the third MCU Spider-Man solo movie could connect to Sony's Venom-dwelling world.
It's still too early for the studios to officially comment, and this is based on this tweet, but we wouldn't be surprised if it came to light either. After all, people would pay big money to see Tom Holland's Spider face off Tom Hardy as Venom. And money talks.
The next Spidey movie, 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', hits Irish cinemas on July 2nd. A currently-untitled sequel to Venom hits theatres in 2020.
