This would be the first-ever feature film to be produced outside of planet Earth
They say these quarantine times get the creative juices flowing. Well it doesn't get more creative than shooting a film in actual outer space.
According to Deadline, Tom Cruise and Elon Musk’s Space X are collaborating with NASA on a feature film that will be filmed in space.
This would be the first-ever feature film to be produced outside of planet Earth.
The genre of the movie will be action adventure (with a hint of sci-fi, we'd assume?) but it won't be a 'Mission: Impossible' movie.
No studio is attached to the project just yet. It's still in the very early stages so there's no other casting or production news for now.
Cruise has developed a rep for his risk-taking projects and for doing his own stunts.
He broke his ankle jumping from one rooftop to the other in 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout'.
He hung from a helicopter in the latest from the series, while previous chapters have seen him hang from the side of a jet plane and scale the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai skyscraper.
Previously, the 'Fast & Furious' franchise hinted they planned to go to space next with the series.
In 2018, James Cameron approached Tom Cruise with the idea of producing a feature film in space.
Knowing how mad/ambitious Cruise is, this latest could very soon become a reality.
